Escrow Accounts

Since 1991, thousands of real estate brokers, owners and title companies across Colorado have supported the Colorado REALTOR® Foundation (and formerly CARHOF) in a very substantial way by investing clients’ earnest money in interest-bearing escrow accounts and directing their financial institutions and/or title companies to transfer all interest earnings to CRF.

This very simple collaborative effort of thousands of brokers, owners and title companies has yielded millions of dollars of investment in CRF’s programs to support safe and affordable housing over the last 25 years.

New Broker Partners

Supporting CRF’s Housing Programs is easy and takes just a few moments. It’s important to remember that you, as the broker, have the opportunity and responsibility to direct how your clients’ earnest money is invested. You do not need the title company’s or bank’s permission to request that your clients’ earnest money is invested in an interest-bearing escrow account. The choice is yours!

If your real estate agency entrusts its clients’ earnest money to a financial institution, then please complete the Real Estate Company Enrollment Form. If your brokerage places its clients’ earnest money in an escrow account held by a title company, then please complete the Real Estate Company Enrollment Form with a Title Company.

Your company will be recognized as a supporting Housing Program partner on CRF’s website. You also will be invited to check presentations to deserving nonprofit housing organizations and recognized as a participating partner whose support makes CRF’s grantmaking possible.

New Title Company Partners

Many Colorado title companies already support CRF by participating in the Housing Program funded by interest-bearing escrow accounts. If your company is not already a partner, or you are unsure if your company participates, please complete and submit the Title Company Enrollment Form. Some title company partners prefer to contribute a flat rate monthly, quarterly or annually rather than track the interest earned on interest-bearing escrow accounts. If your company prefers to partner with a flat rate contribution, please complete the Title Company Enrollment Form – Flat Rate.

Your company will be recognized as a supporting Housing Program partner on CRF’s website. You also will be invited to check presentations to deserving nonprofit housing organizations and recognized as a participating partner whose support makes CRF’s grantmaking possible.

Participating Partners

If you are already participating in the program by investing your clients’ earnest money in interest-bearing escrow accounts, thank you! However, CRF requests that you please complete the appropriate updated form(s) below and send them to your title company and/or financial institution and also share a copy with CRF. With numerous consolidations and name changes, along with CRF’s own name change (from CARHOF to CRF) and recent address change, we are asking all participating partners to update their documents to ensure your participation continues.

We also have learned that numerous partners who wish to continue to support this program are no longer contributing due to bank merges and title company changes. To ensure you remain (or are reinstated as a partner), please complete the appropriate form(s) below.

Once your financial institution and/or title company and CRF receives your updated form, your company will be recognized as a supporting Housing Program partner on CRF’s website. You also will be invited to check presentations to deserving nonprofit housing organizations and recognized as a participating partner whose support makes CRF’s grantmaking possible.

Thanks so much for your partnership as we together advance safe and affordable housing for all Coloradans!
